Yoyo Runner Finished Mini Runner
28″ x 10.5″
This elegant topper is a beautiful addition to your table décor. It is completely done by hand from so-called yoyos. The fabrics that I used are all Japanese cotton prints. Each yoyo starts out as a circle twice the size of the end result. A line of running stitches along the outside of these circles is being pulled together and results in the gathered front.
Fabrics used in my table runners, center pieces and placemats are quality cottons. As batting I usually use a flat 50/50 cotton/polyester. Occasionally I also use 80/20 cotton/polyester for these items. They can be machine washed in cold water with a mild detergent and tumble dried on a low setting or dried while lying flat on a towel. Press with steam on a cotton setting. Many of these designs make also wonderful wall hangings in narrow wall spaces. The size of my mini runners is ideal for dinette or coffee tables. They can also be used as a topper on counters, side boards, buffets, dressers or book shelves and make nice wall hangings in narrow wall spaces.
“I love to work with colours and shapes and have designed quilt patterns for the past 25 years. I am especially intrigued by the complexity of scrap quilts which combine a multitude of fabrics. I design, assemble and quilt my projects on a home sewing machine in a smoke- and pet-free environment. Piecing is done with quality cotton fabrics. Batting in quilts is Hobbs Heirloom unless otherwise noted. This batting combines the best qualities of 80% cotton and 20% polyester. For table decor I prefer to use a flat 50/50 cotton/polyester blend.”
