Red Hexagons Christmas Table Runner

14″ x 32″

Three rows of scrappy red hexagons make the centre of this 14” x 32” table runner. They were pieced by hand in the English Paper Piecing technique and then appliquéd to a cream coloured tone-on-tone print. This is framed by a number of squares in a wide variety of red fabrics that unify the border and the centre. 80/20 cotton/polyester has been used in the quilt sandwich. Hand quilted lines hold the three layers together. The backing is a solid bright red. A mottled dark red fabric has been used in the single layered binding.

The table runner can be washed in the machine on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Dry flat on a towel and press if necessary.

I design, assemble and quilt my projects on a home sewing machine in a smoke- and pet-free environment. Piecing is done with quality cotton fabrics. Batting in quilts is Hobbs Heirloom unless otherwise noted. This batting combines the best qualities of 80% cotton and 20% polyester. For table decor I prefer to use a flat 50/50 cotton/polyester blend.”
