Modern Hexagons Finished Quilt

$160.00 CAD

44″ x 36″

Specifics of this quilt:
This quilt has a very modern appeal. The hexagon blocks have been assembled by hand using the English Paper Piecing method. They were then randomly appliquéd to the white background. The backing is a soft light coloured flannel.
The quilt was divided into six sections. These were individually quilted with parallel lines in a distance of 1”until the whole section was filled with triangles.
The double-layered binding is sewn from uneven lengths of fabrics that had been used in the pieced hexagons. It has been sewn completely by machine for added stability.

Care instructions:
Machine wash cold on gentle setting with mild soap. Tumble dry on low if you like a soft crinkly look or lay flat to air dry. All quilts will get softer and snugglier with frequent washing over time.

“I love to work with colours and shapes and have designed quilt patterns for the past 25 years. I am especially intrigued by the complexity of scrap quilts which combine a multitude of fabrics. I design, assemble and quilt my projects on a home sewing machine in a smoke- and pet-free environment. Piecing is done with quality cotton fabrics. Batting in quilts is Hobbs Heirloom unless otherwise noted. This batting combines the best qualities of 80% cotton and 20% polyester. For table decor I prefer to use a flat 50/50 cotton/polyester blend.”
