12.5″ x 43″ tip to tip
This cheerful modern runner has been pieced by hand and quilted by machine. Hand piecing allowed omitting any seams in the white diamonds. A multitude of bright prints have been used in combination with a white tone-on-tone fabric that features subtle flowers. Batting is a thin 50/50 polyester /cotton. Backing and binding are done with a beautiful single-layered Japanese print that corresponds well with the colours used in the front. Quilting is done in the ditch not to take away from the strong visual design.
The table runner can be washed with mild soap on gentle cycle in the machine. Dry flat on a towel and press if necessary.
“I love to work with colours and shapes and have designed quilt patterns for the past 25 years. I am especially intrigued by the complexity of scrap quilts which combine a multitude of fabrics. I design, assemble and quilt my projects on a home sewing machine in a smoke- and pet-free environment. Piecing is done with quality cotton fabrics. Batting in quilts is Hobbs Heirloom unless otherwise noted. This batting combines the best qualities of 80% cotton and 20% polyester. For table decor I prefer to use a flat 50/50 cotton/polyester blend.”
