Extended 9-Patches Finished Quilt
45″ x 37″
Specifics of this quilt:
Regular 9-patch blocks were the starting point for this quilt. These were the surrounded by squares of a white on white print and similar colours as had been used in the 9-patches. This results in a soft transition from block to block. The border is made from the same white fabric.
Polyester batting has been used as the inner layer. The backing is a yellow print on white.
Parallel quilting lines move in gentle curves from side to side as well as from top to bottom.
The binding blends well with the fabrics used in the top as its colour ranges from a mottled rust to soft green. The double layered binding has been sewn on by machine and stitched by hand to the back.
Machine wash cold on gentle setting with mild soap. Tumble dry on low if you like a soft crinkly look or lay flat to air dry. All quilts will get softer and snugglier with frequent washing over time.
“I love to work with colours and shapes and have designed quilt patterns for the past 25 years. I am especially intrigued by the complexity of scrap quilts which combine a multitude of fabrics. I design, assemble and quilt my projects on a home sewing machine in a smoke- and pet-free environment. Piecing is done with quality cotton fabrics. For this quilt I used soft polyester batting.”
