Cinderella Christmas Table Topper
24.5″ x 24.5″
This centerpiece will decorate your table in a traditional Christmas colour scheme. It is based on my original pattern “Cinderella” that can be found under this name in our pattern listing.
I used a twelve inch block as the center. It consists of three fabrics: a subtle white on white print of snowflakes, a dark green with small sprays of flowers and a center square in a bold Christmas print of poinsettias. This fabric is repeated in the construction of its surrounding star shape.
I used a thin layer of batting and mottled green fabric as backing. The single layered binding is made from the same green that has been used in the centre block. I machine quilted several patches of the block with gold metallic thread. The border shows quilting line that emphasizes the star shape of the whole project. The table topper can be washed in the machine with mild detergent on a gentle cycle. Dry flat on a towel and press if necessary.
“I love to work with colours and shapes and have designed quilt patterns for the past 25 years. I am especially intrigued by the complexity of scrap quilts which combine a multitude of fabrics. I design, assemble and quilt my projects on a home sewing machine in a smoke- and pet-free environment.”
