Appliqued Roses Table Topper

24″ x 24″

Here is an eye-catcher for your table or a beautiful piece for your wall! Three hand appliquéd roses are surrounded by a skinny border that picks up the brown-green used for the leaves and stems. This all is framed by a beautiful red fabric which is randomly sprinkled with golden squares. The construction of this project is based on my original pattern called “Cinderella” which can be found under this name in our pattern listing. It uses square orphan blocks and transforms them into a star with eight points.

I used a thin layer of batting and a white-on-white beige print as backing. The single layered binding is made from a mottled maroon. A machine quilted line with gold metallic thread within the border emphasizes the star shape. The appliquéd area is outline quilted by hand.

The table topper can be washed in the machine with mild detergent on a gentle cycle. Dry flat on a towel and press if necessary.

“I love to work with colours and shapes and have designed quilt patterns for the past 25 years. I am especially intrigued by the complexity of scrap quilts which combine a multitude of fabrics. I design, assemble and quilt my projects on a home sewing machine in a smoke- and pet-free environment.”
