132 - A Handful of Runners

A truly versatile quilt pattern for the beginning and seasoned quilter as well.

A Handful of Runners is a versatile quilt pattern that offers a choice of five different table runners, all with pieced designs based on 9" blocks set on-point. Each block is made from three different fabrics with the darkest one also being used as the binding of the completed runner. In addition to choosing from five different blocks for your runner, you can also choose the length based on three (15" x 41") or four (15" x 53.5") blocks.

This quilt pattern has been designed with the "Beginner in Mind" and includes "General Guidelines for Beginners" that will help you through all stages of construction from straightening of your fabrics to binding your project. The first block listed in the instructions is the easiest. Each subsequent block introduces a new learning experience.

There is a companion pattern 154 Pieced Placemats, in which you will find four more 9" blocks in four different settings. The combination of these two patterns gives you the chance to sew nine different runners in two lengths as well as nine different placemats.
